In the United States today, consumers now owe more on their student loans than on their credit cards. With the job market bleak and millions of Americans out of work or underemployed, student loan debt is crushing the American dream.
In fact, college seniors graduating in 2010 had the highest average debt on record and total student debt will soon surpass $1 trillion. That’s why students from colleges across the Boston area joined with #OccupyBoston on Wednesday, November 2 to call for “Education for the 99%.”
Hundreds marched from the #OccupyBoston encampment at Dewey Square to Beacon Hill to bring their voices to the state house. Check out the video below for some highlights from the action!
