As you may know, a corporate front group called Fix the Debt has spent upwards of $100 million on its campaign to slash Social Security, cut Medicare, and raise the retirement age for seniors. But despite the group’s name, little if any of the savings would go toward the national debt. Instead, Fix the Debt plans to use our tax dollars to pay for billions in tax giveaways for major corporations like Bank of America, GE and Verizon.
To put it plainly, Fix the Debt is pure baloney. And when the group’s co-founder, Erskine Bowles, brings his corporate greed roadshow to Boston next week, we’ll be there to call him out!
Please join us Wednesday, February 20 at MASSUNITING – 150 Mt Vernon Street, 2nd Floor in Dorchester – for a fun, baloney-themed protest to expose the truth behind the Bowles/Fix the Debt campaign for corporate tax giveaways. We’ve got Oscar Mayer costumes, baloney sandwiches to hand out to Bowles’ guests and more!
